Iris and Calla, 7 Jokai Ter, Budapest, 1991
pigment print from 8x10" b&w negative film on archival rag paper
When Stephen and I flew to Hungary in 1990, my 1932 Deardorff 8x10 was tucked under my seat... or was it the seat ahead?, an Olympus OM1with a 50mm f1.2 lens and lots of Tri-X in both formats… Our minds were simpler then, we were filled with hope… we still are. I’ve got around 10,000 images from my months there the majority in 35mm… but a few in 8x10. I also made pinhole cameras out of match boxes using Forte document paper as film and a candle as a safe light… fun with photography. ‘Ah youth, pass the bottle’...
