Carl Fischer Building, looking South toward Cooper Sq. from Wanamaker Pl, NYC, NY, 2000
8 x10", black and white film negative
2000

Digging through the archive… One from Manhattan! Sunday mornings I would shoot, drive home, then get in my darkroom and tray process… this neg’s great… no light leaks from the camera or film back… I use to care so much about how many mistakes I made driving me to abandon the image before it saw the light of day… “I don’t believe you”. Who said that?

With my camera on a tripod I’d stand on top of my 74 Suburban to avoid people or questions?.. This was right around the time the Carl Fischer building was rumored to be closing or sold. Sheet music was not profitable or desirable, I guess? Wait, Carl Fischer Music is still in business! YES!
